All goods that are bought from
us come with a 12 month return to base warranty with the exception
of monitors which come complete with the product manufacturers 3
year On Site Warranty.
Please read the following document
referring to our return's policy and procedure.
Downtown is committed to providing
the highest quality products and customer service to our customers.
However, on rare occasions products may be found to be faulty or
defective, we offer the following returns facilities: We will accept
the return of faulty computer products for full refund or replacement
(subject to testing). However, we will only accept unwanted computer
products for refund within 14 days of delivery, provided that the
goods are in an unopened and re-saleable condition, and subject
to a 15% handling fee.
We will however accept returns
in these areas for replacement only where the goods are deemed to
be faulty or defective.
Return of faulty products
(With the exception of monitors)
Products that are returned to
us for a refund must be returned to us in a re-saleable condition.
This means that all the items included in the original shipment
including manuals, cables, disks, any free software items, and any
other items relating to that product must be included. We cannot
accept liability for packages damaged during transit so we advise
you to wrap the product adequately to prevent this happening.
We may occasionally refer you
to the product manufacturer who will deal directly with the return.
In these instances, we will provide you with the contact information
for the relevant manufacturer.
Monitors
All monitors come complete with
the product manufacturers 3 year on site warranty. Please contact
the product manufacturer who will deal directly with the return.
It will also help us to process
your return quicker if you enclose a detailed note of the fault.
Our Technical Support staff will advise you of which method of delivery
to use to return the products. Depending on the nature of the product
purchased, we will either arrange a courier collection of the product,
or request that you return the product to us directly.
Note: If we have arranged for a courier collection of your product,
we are unable to specify the collection time, and will require someone
to be present when the courier comes. If we ask you to return it
to us directly, please send it to our address.
Proof of postage is not necessarily proof of delivery and you are
therefore strongly advised to send your package by recorded delivery,
registered post or courier and to maintain sufficient insurance
to cover the value of the goods. Where appropriate, the cost of
returning the item will be refunded to you.
On receipt of the return, we
will test the product according to the fault you have stated. If
following the testing process, the product is found to be in good
working order without defect, we will return the product to you.
The carriage cost of this return will be your responsibility.
